When we started Sokrati in 2009 little did we know how long we will last, how far we will go and how much of an impact we will have in the Indian advertising space. We were just a few vagabonds with only one desire in mind, to start our first enterprise in India and try to make it as successful as possible. We started out with a 950 sq ft office in the quiet parts of Bhosale Nagar when most of Pune was still forming, power cuts and Internet cuts were rampant. I remember the concrete road of Baner was still being laid and going to Baner was unheard of. In essence, our little baby, Sokrati, grew along with burgeoning Pune and enterprising India. After 2 years of bootstrapping, 4 years of Series A and 2 years of Series B, we proudly join Dentsu Aegis Network in launching Merkle in India.
As a founder, nothing is more important than finding the most suitable next avenue of growth. After myriads of discussions and countless hours of meetings to evaluate various strategic opportunities and strategic partners, we all believe, without a shred of doubt, that Sokrati is shaped to an amazing growth curve under the DAN fraternity. When we first met DAN & Merkle leadership team, we all felt the metaphoric “click” in our minds and hearts. It only took one meeting to realize how deep the synergy could get. Merkle and Sokrati would only discuss Performance Marketing, Data Driven advertising, Data analytics and achieving all of this through technology. It was like a mother ship now signaling us to harbour.
With the backing of Merkle and the reach of DAN, we at Sokrati are super excited to expand our Indian offering with our technology, our collective experiences, and our expertise. As we unfurl this new chapter for Sokrati we are all very thankful to every Sokratian, every client, all our investors, mentors, and advisors. Without your constant support, this remarkable achievement wouldn’t have been possible. We now proudly call ourselves Merkle Sokrati.
